A Spot of Red

An exciting exhibition at the Menier Gallery with 24 of the Espacio Nomadics.

A Spot of Red begins on Tuesday 7th May and finishes on Saturday 11th May - just a short run this time.

LOVE? EARTH? ANGER? WHAT DOES RED MEAN TO YOU?
24 artists from Espacio Gallery explore the use of this emotive colour.

Crimson, scarlet, vermillion. Red has many names.
Blood, lipstick, earth, mars. Red has many meanings.

Of all the primary colours, red is perhaps the most powerful, disturbing and divisive.

Every artist knows the emotive potential of red to evoke a visceral reaction in the viewer.

But is this the only use for red? Or can it have other meanings, other possibilities?
In this show, 24 London-based artists with cultural roots around the world offer a thought-provoking selection of work, all of which feature a spot (or more) of red.

Join us for an exciting exploration of this vital colour.
